Red Tinted Stinking Water Plume Agate Doublet Cabochon

This material is named for the location it's found, Stinking Water Pass in eastern Oregon.  Not the pretties name but it is one of the prettiest white plume agates. The doublet is backed with black obsidian.

Doublets are 2 stones glued together.  We use a colorant in the epoxy while gluing the two stones together.  The clear agate allows the color to show through to create a unique cab.

The cabochon measures 21 x 21 x 4.7 mm.  It has a girdle height approx. 3.7 mm and is sloped at 5 degrees for ease in setting.  The back is also polished.
